Where Does My Help Come From – Psalm 121:2

Where Does My Help Come From

I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

Where does my help come from? The Psalmist asks because he looks to the hills for His help. He says His help comes from God the creator of heaven and earth. He is the only one that can help humanity with life’s issues. He is more than willing to help us out whenever we need it.

Hebrews 4:16 says” Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” God invites us to come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace in the time of need. We can always come to God for help in any circumstance we are in.

God will not let our feet slip into evil and destruction and He who watches over us never slumbers. He is always aware of His children and where they are in life and on the planet and He always is ready to help those who come boldly to His throne of Grace. God continually tells us in the word that He is attentive to our cries and He delivers the afflicted out of all their problems.

Many troubles the righteous have and God delivers them out of them all every time. He is all about freedom and helping His own. He loves to extend mercy to His children. He keeps whole nations as He has kept Israel for thousands of years. Nations that trust in Him He will protect and deliver from evil.

The Lord is our keeper and the shade on our right hand and we are refreshed in His holy presence. He watches our going in and going out and He protects us during the day and night. He protects us all the time.

He preserves us not only outwardly from evil but He protects our souls from evil in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has triumphed over evil once and for all. In all things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

He is the best protector in the universe and He is the only One who has the power and willingness to deliver us from every attack of the devil. He has already overcome the world and we have overcome the world in Jesus Christ.
