The Word is always near so near you can hear it. Romans 10:8 “But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: “It says that we proclaim is near and its so near that we should hear whenever it is preached or proclaimed. Jesus the Living Word and He dwells in those who are His because He dwells in us through the Holy Spirit.
Look at this wonderful promise: John 1:1-5 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The Word is near us in two ways:the living Word Jesus Christ and the written word. But look at the above passage in John:1 it says the Word was in the beginning and the Word was with God before the foundation of the world. All things were made through the Word and we know the Word was Jesus Christ who is the living word. Who came to dwell among us from the beginning and in the beginning He proclaimed that His Words are life and truth.
John 15:3” You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” We are already cleansed by the Word that Jesus has spoken to us from the beginning. His Word is true and it is living and He gave us the truth that we may proclaim it and live it for the world to see. We know that His witness is true and that witness dwells in us and the light of the word shines through us to light up the dark world we live in.
The darkness from the beginning has tried to put out the light but the darkness could not put out the light. Jesus, is the Word, is the great light of the world that came to shine brightly in the darkness.
The Word is so near us that He breathes on us and do we know that He is the true and only living Word? The Word is good to all men and when the Word walked on the earth He was rejected by His own. He was a man of sorrows but knew that great joy lay before Him.
The Word is living and sharper than any two-edged sword that pierces to the dividing of the bone and marrow. It is active, powerful and able to judge the intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 puts it this way: “ For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. So, remember the Word is near you and do you hear it?
