My Witnesses

My Witnesses

God has always had witnesses throughout biblical history.  You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. Isaiah 43:10

God has chosen us to share His message in the world. Sure he can leave witness of Himself in the earth and he has because His nature is seen throughout creation. But He has chosen to use human instruments to carry His message to the nations.

Jesus reiterated this theme in Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Notice he said you will be my witnesses first locally and then throughout the whole earth.

He also said that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will receive power to be His witnesses and without the power of the Holy Spirit you cannot be a witness for God or Jesus Christ. If you don’t have the power of the Holy Spirit you will not know how to witness to the various people groups of the earth.

Jesus goes with us and is our confidence when we go and shine His light and glory to the nations of the earth. The Holy Spirit anoints a believer for a specific call and sends that person in His anointing to accomplish the mission he has called them to. The mission could be a one-time trip or it could go for a person’s lifetime.

Jesus goes with us

Ephesians 4:11 “Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers and Romans 12:6-8 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your] faith;  if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”

The Holy Spirit, God, and Jesus Christ are all involved in giving the Body of Christ gifts, and offices to their children to go out and be witnesses in a fallen world. Each office that the Lord calls a person to will always be accompanied with supernatural gifts to achieve that particular ministry.

The Lord calls each one of His children to be His witness whether it be at the store, workplace, park, on vacation, or whatever the case may be. He will always give you the grace to fulfill whatever mission he has asked you to serve Him in.

Jesus fulfilled the 5-fold ministry (teacher, evangelist, teacher, apostle, and prophet) in one time or another in His earthly ministry.
