Matthew 28:20 says it so well “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. ”Amen. Jesus will be with us until the end of the age or our sojourn on the earth is completed. What a comfort Jesus is with us forever.
Who other than Jesus can make a promise like that? He can make that promise because He is God and he lives forever. Forever He remains closer to us than our next breath. He is the same yesterday, today and forever and if He says He will be with us until the end of the age He means it.
Think about the magnitude and the power that this promise would have to have to be sustained. Jesus promises to be with every single one of His children until the end of the age. To be able to stay with every believer on the planet (there are millions upon millions) would take an unimaginable amount of power and the person to be able to be with all these believers at one time must be omnipresent. It would take God-like ability to maintain a promise like this.
Jesus meets all the criteria because He is the second member of the Godhead and He is omnipresent. He is everywhere at the same time. He is spiritually everywhere at one time and He dwells in every single one of his children. He has the power to be with every believer on the earth.
He always keeps His word because He cannot lie. What kind of God would make a promise like this? Why would Jesus even want to be with us until the end of the age?
Could you imagine being with the same person all the time until the end of the age? To be able to stay with the same person all the time would take supernatural patience. Jesus has supernatural patience and He loves us so much He is willing to be with us all the time.
He is there in our times of triumph and in our times of weakness and loss. He can deliver us from any circumstance that hits our lives. He is right there to take care of all of our needs and to strengthen us in times of weakness. He guides us step by step every day of our lives.
He is the course in life we should follow. He promises us wisdom if we ask in faith. James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Part of Jesus being with us is that He will give us wisdom on any question in life if we ask in faith. So are we convinced that Jesus will stay with us until the end of the age? There are plenty of scriptures in the Word of God that promise that God will always be with us.
