Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20 He can give each one of us life abundantly more than we can ask or imagine in a lifetime. Jesus said His words were “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life.” John 6:63
Jesus said the Spirit gives life and His words bring life. So, both Jesus and the Spirit give life. The Spirit comes to us and gives us life when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Jesus gives life by the words he spoke and now speaks. Life comes to us when we obey His words of truth and life. Jesus gives the kind of life that comes from heaven and that the world cannot give.
If the world knew Jesus like the Father knew Jesus then they would have experienced the life Jesus gave. He said He was the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. The Son gave His life on the cross and the Father gave Him new life when He raised Him from the dead,
The Son gives us life when we identify with Him in His death. But how can we live when we die? We die to ourselves and sin when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He raises us from the dead as well giving us new life. The bible says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 It says all things become new, a man’s life and spirit becomes new.
Jesus passed from death to life and we pass from death to life. It says in Romans 8:11 “ But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Again, we announce to you that if the Spirit of Jesus dwells within you then He will raise you from the dead and give you new life. Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by the Spirit of God and the Spirit gave Jesus’ mortal body life.
The Spirit of God was given to each one of us as a seal and promise that Jesus gave us a new life. By our good fruits, others will recognize and know that we have the life of Jesus in us also by our words and actions. We will speak the Word of Jesus which gives life to all who have ears to hear. The more we hear and receive the more we get from God.
The Spirit of God is truth and He reveals the truth to us as it’s given to Him. He only speaks life and truth and the truth He speaks are of things to come. Jesus speaks life so we speak life.
