But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Luke 18:16 Jesus loves His children Let the children come to me He said. He said the kingdom of God is theirs and we must be as little children to enter the Kingdom of God. Can we picture little children sitting on Jesus’ lap? Jesus playing with little children and laughing with them. Jesus wants us to be like little children that come to Him as children carefree and happy in His glorious presence.
Read these verses about children: Psalm 8:2” Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.”
Mark 10:13-16 “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone, who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
The disciples told the people who brought the children to see Jesus that Jesus didn’t have time to see them. He was too busy to see the children. Jesus heard this and He was indignant, not angry but indignant. He was very angry that the disciples tried to turn the children away from seeing Him.
Jesus loves the little children and He loves it when we come to Him as little children. Jesus said the Kingdom of God belongs to little children so don’t deprive them from entering the Kingdom. He warns these grown men that those who don’t enter the Kingdom of God as little children won’t enter in.
Jesus took the little children in His arms and he loved them and blessed them. He ministered joyfully to them. How Jesus longs to minister to us as little children. Jesus wants us to totally depend on Him for our every need we have.

Children take what their parents say at face value and believe what their parents tell them. Jesus wants us to have this attitude as His children. You believe everything He tells us and to trust Him implicitly.
It is hard for adults to come to Jesus as little children because we are independent and we want to run our own loves. We want to solve life’s problems using our natural abilities. But His abilities are far above our abilities to solve the complexities of life.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
